Halle 2016: June 15th Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[8] Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER) vs. Marcel Granollers (ESP) H2H – On clay, I’d take the Spaniard.  On a hard court, I think this is a 50-50 match.  On grass, I am taking Kohlschreiber.

[2] Kei Nishikori (JPN) vs. [PR] Florian Mayer (GER)  H2H – Mayer can win this match, and my hunch is he will.

[1] Roger Federer (SUI) vs. [WC] Jan-Lennard Struff (GER) H2H – “Jan, good news you got a wild card into the main draw.  Bad news, you drew the 8-time champion.”

[3] Dominic Thiem (AUT) vs. Joao Sousa (POR) H2H – Thiem has played a lot of tennis over the previous 4 weeks.  He won a tune-up for Roland Garros, reached the semifinal round of the French Open, and then won Stuttgart.  If he is a little worn out, Sousa is more than capable of taking advantage, but I think Thiem has to be favored.

Andreas Seppi (ITA) vs. [Q] Yuichi Sugita (JPN) H2H – Seppi has good vibes from winning his 300th match.

Alexander Zverev (GER) vs. [Q] Benjamin Becker (GER)  H2H

[WC] Dustin Brown (GER) vs. Marcos Baghdatis (CYP) H2H – Dreddy is my pick, but Baghdatis logged a nice win over Berdych.

Paolo Lorenzi (ITA) vs. Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS) – Doc vidanya Paolo?
