Florian Mayer has been a quiet story in Halle.  He has piled up nice wins and advanced to the championship round with an upset over Dominic Thiem.  Alexander “Sascha” Zverev has been a big story in Halle.  He upset 8-time Halle champion Roger Federer in the semifinal round.  Historically, Zverev’s upset was bigger, but in terms of 2016 form Mayer’s upset was bigger.

I think Mayer will win this match if he takes care of his service games.  Zverev just beat his idol and may be due for a letdown.  If Zverev’s easy power is clicking with few errors, this prediction will look silly.
