[1] Serena Williams (USA) v [Q] Amra Sadikovic (SUI) – Good news – you qualified, Bad news – you drew the #1 seed and defending champion
[13] Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) vs Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) – This could be a great match or it could make us wish each player were in better form based on their past achievements. I like Kuznetsova because of her showing in Miami earlier this year. Wozniacki has not done much in 2016.
[16] Johanna Konta (GBR) vs Monica Puig (PUR) – Two of my favorite players face-off. I think Konta’s 2016 form plus a favorable crowd will be more than enough to win this match.
[10] Petra Kvitova (CZE) v Sorana Cirstea (ROU) – Will Dr. Kvitova or Petra Hyde show up
[3] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) v Kateryna Kozlova (UKR) – Aga has good history at Wimbledon and can certainly play deep into this draw.
Heather Watson (GBR) v Annika Beck (GER) – This should be a good match.
[6] Roberta Vinci (ITA) vs Alison Riske (USA) – Vinci’s slice backhand and doubles skills should help her, but if Riske handles Vinci’s slice well my pick could fall apart.
[11] Timea Bacsinszky (SUI) v Luksika Kumkhum (THA)
Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) v Magdalena Rybarikova (SVK) – Genie can win this match, but I don’t expect for her to make a deep run at Wimbledon this year.
[31] Kristina Mladenovic (FRA) vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich (BLR)
[19] Dominika Cibulkova (SVK) v Mirjana Lucic-Baroni (CRO) – The veteran drew the wrong seed.
[18] Sloane Stephens (USA) v Shuai Peng (CHN) – This could be close.
Pauline Parmentier (FRA) v Katerina Siniakova (CZE)
[21] Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (RUS) vs Su-Wei Hsieh (TPE)
[30] Caroline Garcia (FRA) vs Cagla Buyukakcay (TUR)
[WC] Evgeniya Rodina (RUS) v Lesia Tsurenko (UKR)
Daria Gavrilova (AUS) v Qiang Wang (CHN) – The young Aussie has a good chance to advance in this match.
Tara Moore (GBR) v Alison Van Uytvanck (BEL) – Home court edge?
Monica Niculescu (ROU) v Aleksandra Krunic (SRB)
Julia Boserup (USA) v Tatjana Maria (GER)
Elena Vesnina (RUS) v Tamira Paszek (AUT) – This could go 3 sets as they are evenly matched.
Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) v Johanna Larsson (SWE) – Makarova has a good game for grass.
Christina McHale (USA) v Daniela Hantuchova (SVK) – McHale is a warrior on court, but facing a veteran early is always a tricky proposition.
Yulia Putintseva (KAZ) v Marina Melnikova (RUS)
Karin Knapp (ITA) v Ana Konjuh (CRO) – Knapp has enough game to win this match.
Katie Swan (GBR) v Timea Babos (HUN) – Home court edge?
[27] Coco Vandeweghe (USA) v Kateryna Bondarenko (UKR)
[Q] Mandy Minella (LUX) v Anna Tatishvili (USA) – The qualifier should be match tough.
[7] Belinda Bencic (SUI) vs Tsvetana Pironkova (BUL) – I will go on a limb and say that Pironkova’s history at Wimbledon and solid 2016 Roland Garros showing make an upset pick here somewhat smart. Bencic is quite good though.
[24] Barbora Strycova (CZE) vs Anett Kontaveit (EST)
