Washington, DC 2016: ATP Quarterfinal Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[6] Jack Sock (USA) vs. [13] Ivo Karlovic (CRO) H2H – Jack should win so long as he returns well and/or plays well in tiebreaks.  I am not sure that will happen.  Ivo just won a tournament and has the advantage of knowing exactly what his game plan is.

[1] John Isner (USA) vs. [5] Steve Johnson (USA) H2H – I would love if Johnson and Sock won simply because I enjoy rallies, but I think Isner will overpower Johnson and advance.

[2] Gael Monfils (FRA) vs. [8] Sam Querrey (USA) H2H – Their first and only match was a close straight set win by Monfils on clay in 2007.  Both are playing well.  I think Sam finds a way if solely because Isner has had nice results vs. Monfils.  Querrey is coached by Isner’s former coach so his game plan should be solid.

[4] Benoit Paire (FRA) vs [7-WC] Alexander Zverev (GER) – Zverev could be the breakout player from the DC event.
