[1] Feliciano Lopez (ESP) vs. Robin Haase (NED) H2H

Haase leads their head-t0-head series 3-1 and is 3-0 in all of their clay court meetings.  All four of their matches have gone 3 sets so no one has run away with a match.  Haase did defeat Lopez in the 2013 Gastaad event.  That may be a source of confidence for Haase. Lopez is the number one seed and is by far the more consistent performer on tour.  Haase should be confident going into the match, but I don’t think his 3-0 record on clay versus Lopez makes a huge difference.

To win Lopez will need to dominate on his service games.  His attacking style of tennis is not rewarded by red clay, but it can be effective on any surface.  Haase is a very solid player, but I think Lopez’ athleticism will be the difference in this match.  If he can make a few stab volleys and steal a few points with his speed/reflexes, that might just do it.
