ATP World Tour Finals 2016: November 15th Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

This slate of matches has a definite undercard and main event feel.

(6) Gael Monfils VS (8) Dominic Thiem – Although Thiem won his first set versus Novak Djokovic, I believe the more experienced player is favored.  Still, I think Thiem has gone too long without a good win given the level of player he is.  Monfils on the other hand has played quite well from Washington, DC – present.  I think Thiem digs deep and wins in a minor 3 set upset.

(2) Novak Djokovic VS (4) Milos Raonic – The winner of this match has a great chance to advance to the semifinal round.  I do not think Milos matches up well with Nole at this stage in each man’s career.  Novak’s return is good enough to blunt some of Milos’ best weapon.  Once a rally starts, the advantage shifts to Novak Djokovic.  That means Milos will need to volley well and also crack a lot of big forehands in the hopes of preventing Novak’s speed and defense from playing much of a role.  Unless Milos is crisp in his forehand striking and movement, he will likely have too many errors to execute this approach successfully.  I think Novak Djokovic wins in 2 sets.
