[2] Karolina Pliskova (CZE) vs. [26] Mirjana Lucic-Baroni (CRO) – A revenge match from Melbourne goes to the #2 seed this time around. I think Pliskova will dictate play often enough to keep ML-B on the defensive and make victory for the Czech likely.

[12] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) vs. Lucie Safarova (CZE) – This is an intriguing match. If Safarova puts her doubles skills to good use and attacks Wozniacki, an upset could be in the cards. I think Wozniacki runs well enough and strikes well enough to avert the upset though.
