French Open 2017: June 4th Women’s Singles Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Philippe-Chatrier Court (11 a.m. start)

[8] Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) vs [11] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) – This is a tricky match to predict.  I am not sure where either player produces enough pressure to break the other down.  I think Kuznetsova has more firepower and winning experience in Paris, but she is a bit more error prone as well.  I lean ever so slightly to the former champion.

[10] Venus Williams (USA) vs [30] Timea Bacsinszky (SUI) – I think Bacsinszky has a good chance for an upset.

Suzanne-Lenglen Court

[5] Elina Svitolina (UKR) vs Magda Linette (POL)

[4] Garbiñe Muguruza (ESP) vs [13] Kristina Mladenovic (FRA) – The defending champion may have smoother sailing if she can avoid an upset here.

Court 2

[23] Samantha Stosur (AUS) vs  Jelena Ostapenko (LAT) – Stosur has exceeded my forecasts in every round.

Court 3

[2] Karolina Pliskova (CZE) vs Carina Witthoeft (GER) – The #2 seed is flying under the radar.

Court 6

[17] Anastasija Sevastova (LAT) vs [Q] Petra Martic (CRO)

Court 14

Veronica Cepede Royg (PAR) vs. Mariana Duque-Marino (COL)
