[WC] Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) vs. [Q] Donna Vekic (CRO) – The crowd could be a big help for Bouchard, but her recent form plus the pressures of Canadian expectations are not likely to help much.

[10] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) vs. Coco Vandeweghe (USA) – This should be an excellent match if both players find their better tennis.  Vandeweghe is more likely to play a bit erratically.

Timea Babos (HUN) vs. [WC] Bianca Andreescu (CAN) – Canada is not going to like my picks. 

[6] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) vs. [Q] Ekaterina Alexandrova (RUS) – Wozniacki along with about 15-25 other players is well-positioned to make a run in New York if some momentum is to be found ahead of time.

Caroline Garcia (FRA0 vs. [Q] Sorana Cirstea (ROU) – Both of these players are quite good, but Cirstea may benefit from her qualifying wins in this match.

Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) vs. Shuai Peng (CHN) – This could be quite good (if Makarova is a little fatigued it might not be).

Anastasia Pavluchenkova (RUS) vs. Alizé Cornet (FRA) – Cornet finds a way (no copyright infringement intended to the Jurassic Park franchise).

Barbora Strycova (CZE) vs. Daria Gavrilova (AUS) – The young Aussie has had a patchy year.
