Predicted Winners in BOLD

Denis Shapovalov (CAN) vs. Yuichi Sugita (JPN) – This could be a fun match.  I think Shapovalov has an edge in talent, but Suguta has risen in the rankings in his late 20s and has an experience edge.  I expect this to go 3 sets.

Robin Haase (NED) vs. [WC] Marco Chiudinelli (SUI) – With a home crowd, a fast indoor surface, and a wild care, Chiudinelli has a path to victory if he holds serve with some ease.  I just think Haase has a lot fewer “ifs” needed to reach the winner’s circle.

[6] Roberto Bautista Agut (ESP) vs. [Q] Mikhail Kukushkin (KAZ) – I like RBA to advance, but the surface should favor Kukushkin.

Paolo Lorenzi (ITA) vs. Hyeon Chung (KOR) – Prego!(?)
