Medvedev vs. Khachanov: From Russia 6-Love?

This match features two tall, both stand 198 cm/6’6″ tall, 23-year-old Russians.  Their head-to-head is tied 1-1 with both contests coming on indoor hard courts.  Both players are powerful and smart on the court.  Obviously, this should be a close match.  I do think Medvedev’s strong form in DC last week carries him through a tight semifinal match against his compatriot.  My Prediction: Medvedev d. Khachanov 7-6, 7-5

Rafael Nadal vs. Gael Monfils or Roberto Bautista Agut

Rafael Nadal vs. Gael Monfils

I am not stunning anyone in picking Rafa to beat Monfils.  Rafa has dominated their series of matches.  However, Monfils playing 3 sets of hard court tennis ending in a 3rd set tiebreak prior to facing Rafa is comically bad for Monfils’ chances.  My Prediction Nadal d. Monfils 6-3, 6-1.
