Wimbledon 2021: July 7th Men’s Quarterfinal Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs. Marton Fucsovics (SRB) – Djokovic has won the 2 most recent Wimbledon titles, is 18-0 in 2021 majors to this point, and is ranked #1 in the world. I am going to pick him to win this and any other match he plays in this event.

[6] Roger Federer (SUI) vs. [14] Hubert Hurkacz (POL) – I think Federer has about a 55% chance to win this match. I think there will be at least one tiebreak set. If Federer wins that breaker, he likely wins the match. Still, Hurkacz is a talented player who can win this match.

[10] Denis Shapovalov (CAN) vs. [25] Karen Khachanov (RUS) – Denis’ lefty game is a high risk, high reward proposition when it is clicking. I think he finds his way to the semifinal round.

[7] Matteo Berrettini (ITA) vs. [16] Félix Auger-Aliassime (CAN) – I like two Canadians to make the semifinal round. Berrettini has a lot of firepower, but I think FAA has faced a lot of firepower in the past two rounds and responded well. He had a great Halle event as well. This could be a bit like Pat Rafter prior to the 1997 US Open. Rafter had a lot of near misses leading into his major breakthrough.
