Ernests Gulbis (LAT) vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) [6] – I thought Gulbis was more or less on the way out of tennis, but a few wins may mean he is coming back toward the top 30. I still think Tsonga wins as he seems poised for another deepish run at Roland Garros.
Novak Djokovic (SRB) [1] vs. Aljaz Bedene (GBR) – Novak should win, but I remember Federer in 2009 when Rafa was unexpectedly out of the draw and struggled vs. Tommy Haas. I don’t think Bedene is Tommy Haas though.
Alexander Zverev (GER) vs. Dominic Thiem (AUT) [13] – The future vs the future? I’ll take Thiem for now.
David Goffin (BEL) [12] vs. Nicolas Almagro (ESP) – Goffin should win, but Almagro can get things rolling especially on clay.
David Ferrer (ESP) [11] vs. Feliciano Lopez (ESP) [21] – On any surface but clay, I’d probably slightly favor Lopez at this stage in each man’s career.
Borna Coric (CRO) vs. Roberto Bautista Agut (ESP) [14] – I think Bautista Agut will victimize Coric’s forehand enough times to win.
